The Dam and Environment concentration area composes the Engineering I evaluation area and focuses on the various aspects involved in the dynamics of the construction, monitoring and environmental management processes of Dams.

It aims at analyzing alternatives to excellence in environmental performance as a factor of competitiveness and promotion of economic and social development, seeking to develop methods of management of environmental impacts, air quality, water and soil, verifying environmental protection measures suitable for major works.

It proposes the development of alternatives and proposals for strategic solutions in dam safety, focused on experimental and computational analysis of these buildings, as well as for the materials used in their construction.
